Most womenswear is designed for women 5’4 – 5’7, leaving out a huge demographic of women with shorter or taller frames — and so, as part of Conscious Life & Style efforts to ensure ethical style is as accessible as possible, you can find both Petite conscious fashion brands and now, sustainable Tall clothing brands, too.
In this guide, you’ll find brands with slow and thoughtful production, eco-fabrics, ethical production practices, and/or inclusive sizes. Each brand description explains the priorities of the label, helping you to decide which brand best aligns with your personal values.

1. Taylor Tall
Taylor Tall is a sustainable Tall clothing brand with slow-made fashion perfectly proportioned for women 5’9 and taller. In other words, Taylor Tall doesn’t just increase the inseam lengths but considers and modifies each measurement, designing their garments with lower bust, hip, hemlines, waists, pockets, and knee positions, longer sleeves, and wider shoulders.
Additionally, Taylor Tall offers the option to customize your inseam length so that you can extend the length of your garments without having to go up a size and sacrifice fit elsewhere.
And there’s even more to love about Taylor Tall: the brand sources high-quality natural fabrics sourced from NGOs and Fair Trade weaving groups and cooperatives for their thoughtfully made-to-order garments.

2. Sotela
Inclusive, eco-friendly, slow-made, and absolutely beautiful, Sotela is a gem in the sustainable fashion space. The body-positive brand offers colorful, comfy clothing with forgiving designs and doesn’t use words like small and large to describe their sizing. In fact, they have a unique sizing system of 0 through 10 which works for “traditional sizes” 0 – 30.
Sotela’s earth-minded linen and organic cotton pieces are made to order and all jumpsuits and bottoms are available with Tall inseam lengths (recommended for those taller than 5’7).

3. SmartGlamour
You would be hardpressed to find a conscious fashion brand more inclusive than SmartGlamour. Not only does the brand offer sizes XXS – 15X, but you can customize the hem length, sleeve length, bust-to-waist ratio, and waist-to-hip ratio, too.

4. Alice Alexander
Alice Alexander is an ethical, eco-minded, size-inclusive fashion brand dedicated to creating conscious clothing for all bodies. The brand has everyday essentials, business casual basics, and striking pieces perfect for special occasions made from luxe earth-friendly fabrics like Tencel and Cupro.
The brand’s dresses and bottoms have “Tall” inseam options and since each piece is made-to-order in Philadelphia, you can also contact their team for fit assistance and customizations.

5. ThredUp
Shopping secondhand for a “non-standard” size is not easy, but online resale mecca ThredUp is simplifying the process by creating an entire category on their site for pre-loved clothing in Tall sizes.
Their selection of sustainable Tall clothing includes over 1,300 tops, bottoms, and dresses from brands like LOFT, Lane Bryant, J.Crew, and Athleta at the time of publishing.

With neutral-hued seasonless staples made from quality natural fabrics like linen and Tencel, Only Child is a minimalist’s dream. And the label’s conscious capsule wardrobe-ready pieces are inclusive, too, with sizes ranging from XS – 4XL and lengths ranging from Petite to Tall.
All of Only Child’s versatile garments are made-to-order in California and made-to-last for years to come.

7. Simone’s Rose (custom sizing)
Slow fashion brand Simone’s Rose has timeless basics and vibrantly printed pieces for a well-balanced wardrobe. Simone’s Rose uses mindful fabrics like linen, organic cotton, and Tencel and produces their garments ethically in their Canadian Studio.
The brand has a custom size option, which means you can adjust everything on your garment — including the length! Several of Simone’s Rose’s styles even have an option to quickly add 3 inches to the length when you add them to your cart.

8. L’Envers (custom sizing)
L’Envers is a sustainable fashion brand producing their garments in small batches, and even offering custom sizes for their garments — you can customize the chest width, body length, and sleeve length for an additional $24.
The slow fashion brand’s pieces are all knitted by local artisans in family workshops using natural fibers like organic cotton, organic hemp, yak wool, and merino wool.

Brands Making Progress
9. Madewell
Madewell is not a brand I would have featured on Conscious Life & Style just a few years ago, but the brand has made progress towards more responsible sourcing. In addition to partnering with Fair Trade Certified™ factories, Madewell contributes to Community Development Funds in the areas they work and uses some eco-minded fabrics, such as Tencel.
And, considering conscious brands with Tall sizes are especially difficult to come by, I wanted to offer another option, that while not ideal, is certainly better than many other options available today.

10. Warp + Weft
Warp + Weft is a denim brand with Tall and Tall Plus jeans in straight and flared fits. While certainly not perfect, Warp + Weft is making progress, using 20% recycled fabrics and significantly reducing their water footprint.
