While secondhand fashion is on the rise (in fact, resale is projected to grow 5X over the next 5 years!), it’s not always easy to find pre-loved clothing that aligns with your style and size.
That’s why I’m a huge fan of using online secondhand stores to thrift, because they offer search functionality that allows us to track down exactly what we need. Or, at least, enable us to narrow down by filters like product category, size, brand, price, and color to have a better chance at finding something that suits us.
And so, I’ve curated the best spots on the internet to buy (and sell!) secondhand clothing, accessories, jewelry, and more so you can find everything you need without even leaving your couch.
The guide is separated into:
- Online Secondhand Stores (and Apps) for All Clothing
- Online Secondhand Stores for Outdoor Apparel and Gear
- Online Luxury Consignment Stores
Note that this guide includes partners and affiliates. As always, all brands on Conscious Life & Style meet high standards for sustainability and are brands I truly love!
Online Secondhand Stores for All Types of Clothing
1. Poshmark
With 5,000 brands and 25 million items added to their marketplace so far, Poshmark is a massive online secondhand shop worth checking out. The resale site operates similar to a social media network where members can follow each other, share, and like items. There’s also a home feed where you’ll see the latest from brands and sellers you follow.

Price Range: $ – $$
2. thredUP
ThredUp is the biggest online secondhand retailer! The advanced search functionality on ThredUp allows you to sort by size, color, brand, price, material, and even the condition of the piece so odds are, if you’re on the hunt for a specific type of garment, you’ll find it here!
It’s also really simple to sell clothes on this site. All you do is order a clean-out bag, fill it with the clothes you no longer want and ship it back. You’ll receive notifications when your items are sold. (As you may have noticed in the screenshot, I’ve successfully sold a few pieces on this site and have a $23 credit!)

Price Range: $ – $$
3. Bounce Mkt
With curated collections like “Classic”, “Playful”, or “Dressy” and a three-step quality control process, Bounce Mkt is making it easier (and more fun!) to shop for secondhand children’s fashion online.
You’ll find a variety of adorable gently used (or unworn) clothing and footwear for the littlest ones in your life here from a range of brands, all at a fraction of the original price. And each piece has not only been rigorously inspected for quality and safety, but is freshly laundered too.

4. Flyp
If you’re looking for places to sell your used clothes and accessories online but don’t have the time (or desire) to actually go through the selling process, Flyp is an app you’ll definitely want to check out.
Flyp connects people looking to sell their used clothes with professional sellers who can expertly navigate the resale market. These sellers will handle the professional photography, pricing, listing, negotiating, and shipping (plus will cover resale platform fees and shipping costs) in exchange for a commission on sales.
It’s a smart concept for sure and I actually haven’t seen an app like this out there before! So, I’m excited to see where Flyp goes and how the app might be able to increase participation in the secondhand market by reducing the barriers to entry of selling clothes.
